LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is currently on six-week bail on medical grounds, expressed desire for his treatment in United Kingdom (UK), ARY News reported on Thursday.
Nawaz Sharif has filed a 15-page review petition in the Supreme Court (SC), seeking seek permission for his treatment abroad.
The petition stated that the apex court had approved conditional bail to Sharif for six weeks on March 26 on medical grounds, which restricted him to leave the country.
The apex court was pleaded to review the decision regarding the limitation of medical treatment to Sharif inside Pakistan. Sharif’s treatment was only possible through the doctor who previously treated him in United Kingdom (UK), it added.
It was stated that the petitioner was asked to move to high court for another extension in bail but it was not made a part of written order released by the top court.
Nawaz Sharif’s health recovery was impossible in six weeks and he was still facing risks as per advice given by the medical experts citing his cardiac and kidneys’ diseases, the petition said.
