
Pakistan hockey team goalkeeper, Imran Butt said that the semi-final triumph against Malaysia gave the whole team immense confidence ahead of Asian champions trophy final match.
Imran on his return to Pakistan told media that they were positive to beat India in the final match but unfortunately, rain abandoned the match and India, Pakistan called joint winners of the tournament.
“We had planned different strategies to defeat India in the final contest but unfortunately rain disturbed our plannings,” he said.
Imran said that the team management were giving confidence to all the boys which helped them achieve good results from the tournament.
“The team management played a major role in giving us confidence throughout which helped us bag good results,”
On the other hand, Imran is hopeful to clinch the best goalkeeper award in the upcoming Hockey world cup, scheduled to take place in India.
He said that his biggest dream is to help Pakistan win the world cup and become the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
“My next target is World cup where I want to become the best goalkeeper with helping my team to clinch the coveted title,” he said.
Imran also praised team’s head coach Hasan Sardar for leading the team to achieve good results after long.
“Hasan always supported us and kept on motivating the boys,” he said.
