ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday temporarily suspended services of heads of local government representatives as a measure to make elections free, fair and transparent.
The ECP said all the local government heads including mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen, vice chairmen and heads of cantonment boards will remain suspended till July 25, the poll day.
Apart from them, the election commission said, officials of metropolitan corporations, municipal corporations, municipal committees and union councils will also remain suspended.
